The Top Technician 2018 finalists have now been named, following on from the semi-finals that were held at RMI Academy of Skills in Southam on Thursday 10th May.
As we previously revealed in our article at the start of May, David Weston from Snows Kia Guildford was one of ten Top Technician semi finalists, who undertook a series of live diagnostic challenges overseen by a panel of official judges.
After putting in the hard work and proving his knowledge and skills, Dave now joins five of the nations top techs in the final stages of the competition. These contestants will all be competing for the title of Top Technician 2018 in the final, held at Auto iQ in Northamptonshire on Saturday 23rd June. The winner will then be announced later that evening at the Top Technician/Top Garage Gala Dinner 2018 at Brampton Heath Golf Centre.
The semi finals of Top Technician consisted of three online rounds, where knowledge was the key, as well as a 'live action' test. This test was set up by the judges, who created electrical, electronic and mechanical problems on five cars. of which four of these vehicles used conventional drivetrain systems, as well as a hybrid. These deliberate faults were specifically designed to challenge the observation and skills of each candidate.
Snows Kia are extremely thrilled to announce that our very own technician, Dave Weston, showed himself to be one of the best after passing the semi final tests with flying colours. We now look forward to the final on Saturday 23rd June, where we are sure that Dave will do us proud.
