FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. When will I be able to test drive the all-new Mazda MX-30 in the UK?
It will be available at your local dealer in early 2021. We recommend you sign up for more information to be kept updated as we get closer to launch.
2. Will I be able to get the £3,000 Government plug-in car discount?
We expect the all-new Mazda MX-30 will qualify for the Government Plug-in Car Grant discount, worth £3,000 at the current level. The value of this Grant is subject to formal approval by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), which we anticipate will be received during 2020. OLEV reserves the right to alter or withdraw the Plug In Car Grant at any time.
3. What are the benefits to business and company car drivers?
* No BIK tax for pure electric vehicles with CO2 emissions of 0g/km from April 2020.
* Cars with zero CO2 emissions are also eligible for 100% first year capital allowances from April 2020. This means you can deduct the full cost from your pre-tax profits.
* Exempt from first year Vehicle Excise Duty
4. Does the all-new MX-30 have regenerative braking?
Yes it does. One of the unique features of an electric motor is that it can be both a motor and a generator. When depressing the accelerator the battery powers the motor. However, when off the accelerator, while coasting or applying the brakes, the motor switches into generator mode. This slows the car down just as if you had shifted to a lower gear in a conventional car.
At the same time, energy which would normally be lost is converted into usable energy that can be stored in the car’s battery and used to extend the usable range of the vehicle whilst driving.
5. What is the expected energy consumption of the all-new Mazda MX-30?
WLTP Combined 19kWh/100km and WLTP City 14.5kWh/100km (subject to final homologation closer to launch)
6. Is the battery covered by a warranty?
Yes the battery in all-new Mazda MX-30 is covered by an 8-year or 100,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first. In case of an unexpected malfunction, the warranty covers all battery repair and/or replacement.
