Volvo Parts Manager

The primary function of the role is the development of our retail and trade business so, ideally, you will already be in a Parts Manager role. You will also need to oversee the ordering and management of stock and support the Parts Executive's.

We are currently looking to recruit a Parts Manager for our site at Snows Volvo Southampton. You will be responsible for leading a busy Parts Department, providing excellent customer service, a first class management style, and demonstrating a comprehensive technical understanding of the automotive trade. The job will include:

  • Managing a team of two professional Parts Advisors.
  • Meeting monthly set targets and delivering on agreed KPIs whilst guaranteeing the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsibility for all parts/consumable negotiation with suppliers for best prices and supply.
  • Stock management and control ordering process, ensuring all stock is kept securely and in good condition.
  • Maintaining stock control.
  • Ensuring all workshop, Trade sales and retail parts orders are processed the same day.
  • Ensuring all service/retail job parts are pre-picked for all workshop bookings.
  • Ensuring all incoming deliveries are checked and recorded accurately and any discrepancies resolved.
  • Ensuring all paperwork, documentation and parts requisitions are completed accurately.
  • Ensuring all credit sales transactions are done correctly.
  • Managing parts returns, surcharges and warranty returns.
  • Managing accurate data collection and providing forecasts on departmental performance.
  • Monitoring lost sales.
  • Monitoring Trade Purchases and growing our Trade Parc
  • Managing and training junior staff including apprentices.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Previous parts management experience essential (minimum one year).
  • Hardworking, punctual, reliable, ability to use own initiative

Organised, forward thinking and keen to learn with an interest in development and progression

Working hours applicable to this role are:

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 6.00pm with an hour for lunch

1 in 3 Saturdays 8.30am – 4.30pm with half an hour for lunch
