On Saturday 3rd June, our teams from Lexus Hedge End, Snows Toyota Hedge End, and Snows Toyota Southampton were delighted to partake in the Botley Parish Party in the Park as we celebrated this year’s World Environment Day.
In taking part in this community-based experience our teams were able to emphasise one of the key messages of this year’s World Environment Day – #BeatPlasticPollution.
In support of this we asked visiting guests to enter our Bottles in the Boot competition where they had the opportunity to guess how many plastic bottles were in the boot of our Lexus UX 300e. If guessed correctly (or the nearest to), the winner would be treated to an Afternoon Tea at The Mansion at Coldeast. Congratulations to Michael Newton who was correct with a guess of 149.
Here at Lexus Hedge End we believe that given the right time and skills, and through Kaizen – which is the Japanese word for “continuous improvement” – there will be a solution to reduce plastic pollution as we all work together to bring forward a world in which single use plastic becomes an abnormality.
Embracing World Environment Day, our Snows Toyota teams took this opportunity to speak with all stand visitors about Toyota’s key global environmental commitments.
Toyota look to ‘establish a future society in harmony with nature’ and to celebrate this we came up with the wildflower initiative. Throughout this event, customers were gifted packs of Wildflower seeds, and we even created a designated area on our stand where children were invited to take part in our Wild Garden drawing competition. After much deliberation, our team chose the winner to be Callie K, aged 4. Well done Callie!
As we embrace the philosophy of Ichishou, which means together in Japanese, we look to continue to build an ever-closer relationship with our customers, as we invite them to share their wild garden creations with us through tagging our social media channels in their journey updates.
