Snows Motor Group has opened a new used car dealership in the city – and business was brisk during its first weekend of trading.
After lifting the shutters at the end of last week, customers from all over Hampshire and beyond flocked to the Southampton Car Centre over the Bank Holiday Weekend to check out the near-200 vehicles for sale at what is believed will be the largest used car site in the county.
Models from a wide range of manufacturers, such as Hyundai, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford and Nissan are available at the dealership in Second Avenue, Millbrook, where around 40 members of staff will be recruited during the next 12 months.
Southampton Car Centre, one of a number of businesses specialising in pre-owned vehicles operated by Snows, provides the same levels of quality and service as the company’s network of franchised dealerships, which are located across the South and South West of England.
Snows will be re-opening the workshops at this centre to all makes and model servicing, MOT and cosmetic repairs over the coming months, allowing all customers to enjoy the highest levels of customer service.
And in fact, a number of Snows new car dealerships are near the new Car Centre, representing brands such as Volvo, Fiat and CUPRA. Also close by is Snows’ Southampton accident repair centre – which opened four years ago after a £1m investment – and the company’s head office.
Alex Domone, Chief Operating Officer at Snows, said: ‘‘Naturally, we are delighted to have opened the doors to our new Southampton Car Centre. We’ve wasted no time at all in stocking the premises with a wide range of high-quality vehicles from a variety of well-known manufacturers.
‘‘There really is something for everyone – whether you’re looking for an economical city car, a family-sized SUV, or a sporty option for the summer. Our friendly team are already welcoming customers to the premises. We had an excellent first weekend with really good footfall – it’s very exciting.
‘‘We’ll be offering car sales, servicing and body repairs – everything that a customer would expect from one of Snows’ franchised dealerships. And we’ll be delivering the same high levels of customer service that we provide everywhere else.’’
The Southampton Car Centre site has an interesting automotive past. Before Snows’ occupancy, it was a customer centre for online car retailer Cazoo; and prior to that, home to the Imperial Car Supermarkets Group.
Snows Group has undergone considerable expansion in recent years but remains a family-run business operating at the heart of the communities it serves in southern and South-West England.
We operate five approved service centres and 13 used car centres, as well as around 50 franchised dealerships representing brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Peugeot, BMW, Kia, Volvo, Renault, Dacia and Vauxhall.
