BYD is the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and have introduced the new all-electric BYD SEAL, as part of their Ocean series, which will be available to purchase and own in the UK by November 2023.
The BYD SEAL combines a sleek and athletic appearance with a high level of comfort and practicality and an outstanding range of equipment. The SEAL was created to demonstrate power and athleticism and has the look and feel of a sports car. Both spacious and versatile, the BYD SEAL offers fantastic performance and functionality. Like the BYD ATTO 3 and the recently launched BYD DOLPHIN, the SEAL is equipped as standard with a Blade Battery to optimise safety, durability, longevity, and performance.

The SEAL will be available in two trims, Design and Excellence, and will be offered with a choice of battery sizes. The single-motor version with rear-wheel drive has a fully-electric range of 354 miles, power output of 313ps and has a 0-62 time of just 5.9 seconds! Alternatively, you could opt for the AWD version with an electric range of 323 miles, total power output of 530ps and a 0-62 time of just 3.8 seconds – superb performance with a superb price tag!
The BYD SEAL is also furnished with a high-voltage electric drive boost charging solution which allows for faster charging. This innovative technology reduces the heat generation of the charging for a more reliable performance. The SEAL can be fast charged at an ultra-fast charging station with 150kW which you can find at any large service or fuel station as well as some restaurants and shopping centres. With this amount of power, the battery can charge comfortably from 30% to 80% in just 26 minutes.

For families and business users alike, the SEAL offers a huge 400 litre luggage compartment on top of a 53-litre storage space under the bonnet (in the rear-wheel drive version only). Within the carriage itself, there are more than 20 clever storage spaces, making this the perfect family vehicle! While the front seats have a sporty appearance, they are soft with firm seat paddings and excellent support. The rear seats have been ergonomically designed and optimised to ease tiredness on long journeys and alongside the rear privacy glass, offers a comfortable rear passenger experience.
The BYD SEAL has been given a start price of £44,990 MSRP and is available in six body colours with two interior trim colours. Full specification is due to be released as part of the UK launch in October 2023. On top of a fantastic consumer price, the BYD SEAL is offered with a fantastic six-year manufacturers warranty and eight years for the battery and electric motor!
