Vauxhall Vivaro

Design

One of the most popular and best-reviewed medium-sized panel vans on the market, the Vauxhall Vivaro is a fine choice for businesses requiring a winning blend of compactness and capacity. In this respect and many others, the Vivaro more than delivers. Not only is it available in two trim levels (Dynamic and Sportive), it can be selected as a standard Single Cab or optional Double Cab variant. There are two lengths to choose from too (L1 and L2), allowing you to select the one that best suits your business requirements. Furthermore, the Vivaro offers easy access to its load bay, thanks to sliding side doors on each side and dual-opening rear doors.

Technology

Enjoy your favourite radio stations – or tunes from your personal library – with a four-speaker stereo that features an FM/AM tuner, DAB radio, USB connection and Bluetooth. The latter allows you to stream your favourite music or spoken-word content while facilitating hands-free telephony. Also included is Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, which provides you with safe and simple access to your smartphone while on the move. Completing the standard-issue infotainment package are steering wheel-mounted audio and phone controls, a microphone and phone-book access via a seven-inch colour touchscreen.

A Navi Pro multimedia system is available as an optional extra, offering a range of satellite navigation features, such as 3D street-level mapping and European coverage.

Drive

An easy-driving and efficient van

Whether you’re travelling with a full or empty load bay, you’ll find that the Vauxhall Vivaro offers reassuring stability. It’s very easy to drive too, thanks to its car-derived underpinnings. The van is provided with four diesel engine options, all of which are turbo-charged. The first of these is a 1.5-litre drivetrain, offering outputs of 98bhp or 118bhp. Alternatively, a 2.0-litre engine produces 143bhp and 340Nm/370Nm of torque. If you require optimal efficiency, the aforementioned 1.5-litre 98bhp drivetrain is the way to go since it returns up to 42.8mpg (model dependant). If your line of work involves a lot of towing, the 2.0-litre engine is a wise choice because it’s able to tow a class-competitive 2.5 tonnes.

Safety

Filled with safety features

An array of safety features is included as standard, from driver and passenger airbags to stability tech that’s designed to provide the driver with full control in all kinds of situations. For instance, the Electronic Stability Programme works in tandem with electronic braking, varying brake pressure in order to deliver optimal traction and, therefore, stability. Speaking of brakes, Emergency Brake Assist is included too, supplying full braking pressure whenever you attempt to apply emergency braking. Another brake-derived feature is Hill-start Assist, which ensures there’s no uncontrolled rolling whenever the engine is started on a slope. Inside, the Vivaro is fitted with a full-height steel bulkhead, while Double Cab models feature a high-strength ABS plastic version, complete with window.
