BMWi Electric Week: Dining with a Difference at New Theatre Royal

“Great event demonstrating our wonderful partnership… a huge thank you – looking forward to more. Onto the next step forward!”

New Theatre Royal

Last week, Snows BMW’s partner, the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth, lit up green in support of BMWi Electric Week. To continue the theme, and in support of electric driving in the city, the theatre also hosted a sumptuous green lunch at their beautiful Phipps Café.

The Phipps Café at the New Theatre Royal was the setting for a sustainable Snows-sponsored lunch during BMWi Electric Week

This lunch was specially designed to promote sustainability, which is at the core of the BMWi ethos. BMWi vehicles are environmentally friendly from start to finish, demonstrating the marque’s dedication to the planet. The carbon fibre used in their structure is produced using hydroelectricity, and the BMWi plant is fully powered by four specially constructed wind turbines. What’s more, the interior of the i3 includes both renewable and recycled resources. In fact, 95% of the materials used are completely recyclable at the end of the vehicle’s life.

The team at New Theatre Royal were keen to amplify BMWi’s sustainable message, aware that bringing electric driving to the city will create a cleaner, greener environment for everyone who lives or works in Portsmouth. The green menu included a Homemade Vegetarian Lasagne, a Healthy Option Quiche (cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil leaves), and a Special Snows i3 Panini (with sun blushed tomatoes, roasted red pepper, red onion, mozzarella, and rocket), all of which could be purchased with a Snows sponsored discount. All items on the menu were a huge success, and were enjoyed by all.

Councillor Rob Wood was one of the recipients of this great green lunch; here’s what he had to say: “had a great lunch and conversation while being gently introduced to the i3 with an opportunity to follow up.

Great event and concept… Let’s have more of this”. The follow up mentioned by Councillor Wood was the opportunity for visitors to the Phipps Café to sign up for a test drive of the i3, to experience its innovative features for themselves.

Special invites were available for visitors to the Phipps Café at New Theatre Royal, presenting the opportunity to test drive a BMW i3

The i3 is powered by eDrive technology, which allows everyday journeys to become 100% electric. eDrive combines a high-voltage lithium battery with an electric motor, causing them to work in harmony to provide the optimum driving experience. With BMWi, the entire torque of the electric motor is available almost instantly, from a standing start. Uninterrupted acceleration is maintained up to maximum speed, allowing you to achieve top performance with minimum consumption.

BMWi provides the fantastic performance that this reputable marque is renowned for as well as being at the forefront of sustainable technology. This unbeatable combination makes the BMW i3 and i8 models a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to do their part for the environment without compromising on quality.
