PEUGEOT was ranked the ‘Most Dependable Volume Brand’ in the UK, beating a number of key rivals to the title. The triumph means PEUGEOT owners were most happy with their vehicles’ reliability, running costs and build quality.
In the survey, owners are asked to rate their vehicle over 177 areas split into eight categories, ranging from engine and transmission to infotainment and seat material quality. Overall dependability is determined by the lowest number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles, and PEUGEOT was rated the best, ahead of brands including Škoda and Hyundai.
The J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study was also split into eight vehicle segments, with the PEUGEOT 208 winning the ‘Most Dependable Small Car’ award.
Mark Lendrich, Head of Research at J.D. Power Europe, said: “Long-term reliability has a direct impact on today’s sales and tomorrow’s brand loyalty. PEUGEOT did a great job in understanding the needs of its consumers, and therefore deserves to win the J.D. Power award for UK’s most dependable brand 2019, and the PEUGEOT 208 as highest rated vehicle in its segment.”
David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, said: “The J.D. Power survey is one of the most respected ownership surveys in the industry, so it means a lot to top the rankings not just once but twice. We’re committed to building vehicles with uncompromising quality, an instinctive driving experience and sharp design, and it’s great to see owners telling us they find all these characteristics when living with our vehicles year in year out.”
