Three Turbo-charged Gasoline Direct injection (T-GDi) engines are on offer: the three-cylinder 1.0-litre T-GDi engine produces 120ps and 172Nm torque, while the four-cylinder 1.4-litre T-GDi engine produces 140ps and 242 Nm torque. Choose the most powerful 1.6-litre T-GDi engine, found in the Ceed GT and ProCeed GT, and you’ll benefit from a 204ps power output and 265Nm torque across a broad range of engine speeds. The muscular 1.6-litre T-GDi engine perfectly matches the car’s ability to thrive in a variety of driving situations. The Kia XCeed is also available with a choice of two Smartstream power units – the cleanest diesel engines ever produced by Kia, and the most fuel efficient in the range.
With the exception of the 1.0-litre T-GDi, all engines can be paired with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions. The 1.0-litre engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and Idle Stop & Go is fitted as standard to all models.
You can expect systems such as Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) that uses radar to monitor your blind spots, warning you of approaching cars with a warning sound and a symbol on the side-view mirror and Smart Parking Assist (SPA) which controls the steering wheel to help you into parallel and perpendicular parking spaces. Smart Parking Assist also lends a hand when departing from a parallel parking space; all you have to do is control the speed and shift gears.
