Lexus HomeCharge

Lexus HomeCharge is a smart home charging solution designed for Lexus electric vehicles, integrating seamlessly with the Lexus Link+ app. It allows you to easily and efficiently charge your Lexus EV from home.

Lexus HomeCharge works with any Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) that uses a Type 2 charging port. Note that some Lexus Link+ app features may be vehicle-specific, and the app is compatible only with Lexus models.

• Off-Street Parking: A private off-street parking space, which will be in the form of a driveway or garage.
• Freeholder permission: If you live in a rental property, you need permission from the freeholder before installation. 
• Electric safety check: If you own or rent a property built before 2008 and are considering installing a Lexus HomeCharge, we can arrange for British Gas to inspect your electrical system, free of charge, with your permission. Please note that not all properties are suitable for an EV charger, and some may require electrical modifications before installation. Any necessary electrical work will be the customer's responsibility.​

A tethered charger includes a fixed charging cable, while an untethered charger requires a separate cable. All Lexus BEVs and PHEVs come with a Type 2 charging cable for home charging, as well as a 3-pin plug connector for standard domestic outlets.

harging times vary based on your vehicle and electrical setup. In the UK, the Lexus HomeCharge operates at 7kW, typically taking around 2 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge the NX 450h+ and RX 450h+ from empty, and about 10 hours and 30 minutes for the RZ and UX 300e.*

By downloading the Lexus Link+ app, which integrates with your vehicle and Lexus HomeCharge, you can unlock many benefits. These include real-time charge monitoring, remote charging and scheduled charging. ​

Lexus HomeCharge operates with any UK energy supplier, but currently it can't support intelligent EV energy tariffs like OVO Charge Anytime and Octopus Intelligent Energy. We recommend checking with your energy supplier if your desired tariff is compatible before installing Lexus HomeCharge.

You share your home energy tariff, the time you need your vehicle ready, and the desired battery level with Smart Charge, which then can create a personalised charging schedule. It will automatically charge your vehicle at the best time to help lower energy costs, while ensuring it's ready when you need it. 

Smart Charging requires key information, such as your home energy tariffs, the time you need your vehicle to be ready, and the desired battery level, so it can create a personalised charging schedule, help reduce charging costs and be ready when you need it.

When you plug in your vehicle for a charge, Smart Charge starts with a 15-minute charging session to assess the available charging speed and power. Once this is finished, it prioritises charging during off-peak tariff windows to reduce charging costs and intelligently manages any remaining charge outside the window.
