The role of a Vehicle Service Technician is to maintain, service and repair vehicles to a consistently high standard. The Role of a Vehicle Service Technician:
Service Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The role will vary by employer based upon the specific needs of the location, but the position typically involves:
Qualification Details
Qualification: Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)
Duration: 36 months
Salary: There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending on your age and what year of your apprenticeship you’re in.
Aged 16 to 18: £5.28 per hour
Aged 19 or over and in your first year: £5.28 per hour.
Aged 19 or over and have completed your first year: National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age.
Entry Requirements
Age: 16+
Qualifications: GCSE (or equivalent) Level 4 plus in Maths and English

Working Week
All learners will be required to work the minimum apprenticeship duration of 30 hours per week. At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to ‘off-the-job’ training. You will learn more about the working hours during the recruitment process.
Your Development and Future Prospects
The Programme lasts for at least 36 months (3 years) and you’ll achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
We will support you to gain your Functional Skills if you require them in Maths and English.
Your development is supported through your Apprenticeship journey, with your learning focused towards achieving a qualification recognised across the motor industry; this will provide the foundation to develop your career at Snows.
