On World Cancer Day, BMW Group UK is proud to announce a new three-year charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialized nursing care and support for young people with cancer.
Every day, seven young people in the UK aged 13 to 24 hear the devastating words, “You have cancer.” Teenage Cancer Trust ensures they receive the best possible care—physically, mentally, and emotionally—during treatment and beyond. Through its team of expert nurses, dedicated support staff, and specialist hospital units, the charity helps young people navigate the toughest challenges of their lives.
BMW Group UK’s 8,000 associates selected Teenage Cancer Trust as the company’s official charity partner through a company-wide vote across its UK sites, including the National Sales Company and BMW Financial Services in Farnborough, as well as production plants in Oxford, Swindon, and Hams Hall.
To support this vital work, BMW Group UK has pledged to raise at least £250,000 over the course of the partnership. These funds will help Teenage Cancer Trust’s nurses and youth workers continue providing life-changing care to young people facing cancer. Fundraising efforts will include a combination of company donations and employee-led initiatives, such as bake sales, charity walks, and quiz nights.
David George, CEO of BMW Group UK, shared his excitement for the partnership:
"The incredible work of Teenage Cancer Trust is truly inspiring, and we are proud to stand alongside them in their mission. This cause is deeply important to many within our business, and our teams are eager to make a difference through creative and meaningful fundraising efforts."
Kate Collins, CEO of Teenage Cancer Trust, expressed her gratitude:
*"We are delighted to be chosen as BMW Group UK’s charity partner. Every young person deserves the chance to live their life to the fullest, yet cancer can disrupt their future in unimaginable ways. The right support during this time can shape their confidence, relationships, career, and overall wellbeing.
Our work is entirely funded by donations, and young people need our support now more than ever. We are incredibly grateful for BMW Group UK’s commitment and can’t wait to see the impact this partnership will have on young people with cancer across the UK."*
Teenage Cancer Trust will remain BMW Group UK’s charity partner until 2028. To learn more, visit www.teenagecancertrust.org.
