Citroën Ë-C4 and Ë-C4 X model ranges enhanced with new powertrain options

                    • New larger 54kWh battery pack paired with a more efficient 115kW (156hp) electric motor will be offered on Citroën ë-C4 and New ë-C4 X.
                    • New battery specification delivers improved energy density for enhanced driving pleasure and extended electric range of up to 260 miles (420 km), depending on version (WLTP cycle).
                    • Existing versions with 50kWh battery and 100kW (136hp) electric motor will continue, with WLTP range of up to 219 miles (ë-C4) and 222 miles (New ë-C4 X).
                    • In addition, several European countries that previously only sold New ë-C4 X - including the UK - will now open order books for petrol and diesel versions of New C4 X.

Citroën is stepping up the pace of electrification with a new offering that enhances its ë-C4 and ë-C4 X model ranges - thanks to a new battery pack, a more powerful electric motor and extended range of up to 260 miles. With the adoption of this new motor and battery combination on ë-C4 and New ë-C4 X, Citroën is the only generalist brand to offer two complementary electric vehicles with two powertrain options in the C-segment.

The new ë-C4 and ë-C4 X models offer an increased all-electric WLTP range of circa 40 miles compared to the existing versions, due to the new 54kWh advanced-chemistry battery and a new, more efficient and powerful 115kW (136hp) hybrid synchronous electric motor (HSM), which provides an impressive 260Nm of torque.

The electric motor and battery enhancements reduce average energy consumption to 12kW/h, offering significant benefits in real-life customer use, even at temperatures close to 0°C. Despite the increased battery capacity, charging times are maintained - thus guaranteeing comfort in use.

Additional efficiency is achieved through the design of ë-C4 and New ë-C4 X. A smaller battery means less weight and less consumption, plus the capability of 100kW fast charging. Standard features include a heat pump, which uses a humidity sensor to maximise energy efficiency and cooling, the aerodynamic silhouettes of ë-C4 and New ë-C4 X, and A+ 18-inch tyres to reduce rolling resistance and minimise energy loss through friction.

Alongside the new all-electric models described above, Citroën UK has confirmed that order books will open for petrol and diesel versions of New C4 X - in order to meet demand from fleet operators and to facilitate access to mobility for more private customers. The ICE powertrains offered on C4 X will be: PureTech 100 Stop&Start six-speed manual, PureTech 130 Stop&Start EAT8 eight-speed automatic and BlueHDI 130 Stop&Start EAT8 eight-speed automatic.

Pricing and specification information for all the models described above will be released imminently and UK production will begin in July 2023.
