Towards the rear of the car, full LED taillights feature with FR and XPERIENCE trims benefitting from new, dynamic sweeping indicators.
SEAT has also updated the specifications on offer meaning that in addition to the SE and SE Technology trim levels, there’s a sportier FR and FR Sport and new XPERIENCE (and XPERIENCE Lux) variant which replaces the XCELLENCE model and focuses on all-terrain styling and new alloy wheels, ranging from 17” to 19”.
The colour palette has also been extended which means customers can choose from ten paint finishes: two solid and eight metallic.
To ensure the interior is fully digitalised, the new SEAT Ateca features Full Link technology with Android Auto or wireless Apple CarPlay so drivers can take and make calls, get directions via Apple or Google Maps, send messages and access your favourite playlists.
Online connectivity continues via an embedded eSIM to ensure that the new SEAT Ateca never loses its connection to the digital world and allows users to access the latest internet apps and eCall service, which contacts the emergency services directly should an incident occur.
There are five petrol engines to choose from, from a frugal three-cylinder 1.0 TSI unit producing 110PS of power to a larger capacity four-cylinder 1.5 150PS available with either a manual or DSG dual-clutch transmission. Opt for the most powerful petrol engine and you’ll benefit from a 2.0-litre 190PS unit linked to a DSG transmission and 4Drive all-wheel-drive system.
Diesel still remains a key technology in the new SEAT Ateca’s powertrain line-up, with two versions available including a 2.0 TDI engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission with a power output of 115PS or a more powerful 150PS unit linked to either a manual or DSG dual-clutch transmission, with the latter able to support 4Drive all-wheel drive as an option.
Systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and autonomous emergency braking all work together to protect the vehicle and its occupants. A pre-crash system has also been implemented in order to minimise the consequences in the event of a collision.
The new SEAT Ateca’s onboard systems aren’t just about safety, but also to make the compact SUV more convenient, comfortable and enjoyable to drive.
Drivers of the XPERIENCE trim will also benefit from a brand new all-weather heated windscreen, coated in an invisible ‘Climacoat’ layer to allow the windscreen to be defrosted almost immediately so you can drive safely and clearly without straining the system.
