At the mechanical heart of the BYD Ti 7 lies the DM-p Super Hybrid system.

Unlike conventional plug-in hybrids, the DM-p setup uses three distinct power sources: one electric motor on the front axle, another on the rear axle, and a longitudinally mounted 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine working simultaneously.

The Ti 7 acceleration delivers 0 to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 118mph. Yet speed is only half the story. Efficiency still remains a priority. For most everyday driving, the 150PS petrol engine acts primarily as an onboard generator to feed energy into BYD’s advanced 35.6kWh Blade Battery.

The Ti 7 electric range can cover up to 74 miles. That is more than enough pure-EV range to handle the average daily school run or commute without burning a drop of fuel.
