Snows’ Neil McCue praises colleagues after picking up Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards trophy​​

A director of one of the UK’s leading automotive dealer groups has picked up a prestigious accolade at the 2022 Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards.

Neil McCue, Chief Operating Officer at Snows Motor Group, won the Dealers’ Dealer of the Year Award at this year’s ceremony, a glittering occasion held at The Brewery in the City of London.

Thousands of automotive retailers, MOT testing stations and workshops enter the awards – often described as the Oscars of the motor trade – each year. A rigorous judging and mystery shopping process takes place before the gongs are handed out.

The Dealers’ Dealer of the Year award is a particularly special individual trophy as it reflects the esteem and respect the winner enjoys among his or her colleagues and peers throughout the industry.

After collecting his award on stage, Mr McCue said: ‘‘Wow! This is totally unexpected but I am very grateful to have been nominated – what a lovely trophy to win!

‘‘It’s wonderful to learn I have the respect of fellow dealers in the industry. We’re all in the same business, we all work really hard together, so to win this is a fantastic achievement and I’m really proud.

‘‘However, I don’t regard this as an award that’s personal to me; it’s about our team of people – all members of staff across every area of our fantastic business. They all work incredibly hard and I’m grateful to work for a company like Snows.’’

Mr McCue has been with Snows for almost 20 years and has been Chief Operating Officer for the past eight.

Awards night compere, the TV host and automotive industry legend Mike Brewer, said: ‘‘Nice work, Neil! Snows are playing a blinder at the moment. The company is going from strength to strength and it’s all down to the efforts of Neil and his hard-working colleagues.’’

The Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards have been celebrating the top operators in the UK’s used car industry since 2012, rewarding manufacturers, car dealerships, workshops, and exceptional people working in the sector. They are organised by the UK’s leading automotive trade title, Car Dealer Magazine.
