Vauxhall Combo-e

Design

The Vauxhall Combo Electric is an excellent option if you’re looking for a compact van that offers plenty of load space, is easy to drive and very affordable to run. Available in well-equipped Dynamic and highly specified Sportive trim levels, the Combo Electric is an especially smart-looking commercial vehicle, which makes it an asset to a wide range of enterprises. It’s also flexible because it can be selected in L1 or L2 lengths, which means you should have no problems choosing the one that best suits your business needs. There’s also the option to go with a regular Single Cab or Crew Van iteration. The vehicle is extremely useful in confined urban environments since it offers easy load access, with twin doors at the rear and sliding side doors on both flanks (L2 models).

Technology

The Combo Electric is fitted with a four-speaker stereo, which includes an FM/AM tuner, DAB radio and USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The latter is particularly useful since it facilitates both audio streaming and hands-free telephony. Audio and phone functions are easily and safely operated via steering wheel-mounted controls. With second-tier Sportive trims, the Dynamic grade’s standard-issue five-inch touchscreen is upgraded to an eight-inch full-colour version, providing access to smartphone-mirroring technology – thanks to the inclusion of Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Nevertheless, Dynamic trims offer the convenience of keyless entry and start (automatic models only) while a remote-control ultrasonic alarm system is included with all variants.

A Navi Pro system, featuring satellite navigation, is available as an option with both Dynamic and Sportive trims.

Drive

Quiet, efficient and eco-friendly

Unlike most combustion engine-powered vans, the Vauxhall Combo Electric delivers a quiet ride, which helps with the flow of conversation or when listening to music or speech-based broadcasts. The vehicle offers sufficient power, and it’s efficient too – certainly, it’s much more affordable to run than a van fitted with a petrol or diesel engine, and of course, it produces zero CO2 emissions. It also offers a maximum range of up to 171 miles, with a battery that can be charged at home, at work or via one of many public access points around the UK. Producing 134bhp and 260Nm of torque, the Combo Electric manages a perky 0-62mph in less than 12 seconds. And Drive Mode Selector allows you to choose Normal, ECO or Power according to road and/or weather conditions – and your driving preferences, of course.

Safety

Safety features aplenty

This pure-electric van comes with a wide range of safety features, including airbags, an energy-absorbing steering column, and side-impact protection beams. It’s fitted with a full-height steel bulkhead too, which presents an effective barrier between travellers and cargo. Top-tier Sportive trims, meanwhile, provide the advantage of a bulkhead that features load-through provision.

The Combo Electric offers plenty of technological assistance, such as the Electronic Stability Programme, which ensures that optimal traction levels are maintained in a variety of situations. Corner Stability Control is another useful feature, allowing the vehicle to take corners smoothly.

If you select a Crew Van variant, extra safety equipment is included, such as a dual-position ladder-frame bulkhead and extra airbags.
