We sat down with James Scrivener (far left of image) who took on the Emerging Managers course as the Lost Sales Manager for Snows Toyota and Lexus UK. When asking James about this experience on the course he shared that "the course was awesome, it gave me a completely different outlook on the whole business. Tony, our tutor, was incredible, probably the most amazing man and knows the business inside and out. Hearing stories made you realise that there is always a different way at Snows!"
He continued: "we covered all departments; service, sales and aftersales. It was interesting to see the business from the sales from a different perspective and reasoning behind decision-making. Even outside of work, in home life situations I use the skills to manage things differently. I don’t like presenting and we had to present 3; it got me used to PowerPoint and standing up in front of people, this is quite a good thing to take forward.The biggest lesson I took away form the course was people – they break down different people categories for example how you communicate and how different colour energies bounce of each other. The science behind it. They always use the phrase ‘you need a monkey’ so you always have someone on your shoulder who is your second in command – I guess that’s the same for everything in life, not just work.
The graduation ceremony itself was fantastic, everyone was called up individually to receive their certificate followed by a group photo at the end with everyone who finished the course. I felt important and I really enjoyed the day I find that when Toyota do their course they do it in such a way that you come back from their training and you feel completely positive, across the board with all Toyota you get this, a positive change on the mindset."
