Paralympian among Snows Toyota customers ‘going all out’ at Goodwood

Paralympian Aaron Phipps MBE was one of a host of Snows Toyota customers who took part in a high-speed race day at the hallowed Goodwood Motor Circuit.

Snows invited owners of Toyota sports models to join pro drivers from Rogue Motorsport for a 140mph, edge-of-the-seat drive around the track in a GR Supra and GR Yaris.

Snows Toyota customers were then able to guide their own cars around the perfectly-restored classic track and home of the Goodwood Revival.

Paralympian Aaron Phipps MBE (back) was one of a host of Snows Toyota customers who took part in a high-speed race day at the hallowed Goodwood Motor Circuit with Rogue Motorsport driver Cam Walton (foregraound).
David Burley, who bought his Yaris GR from Snows Waterlooville, was a rally driver in his younger years and took his GR to the Snows Toyota GR Track Day.

Aaron, from Totton near Southampton, is a ParalympicsGB champion.

A member of Great Britain’s wheelchair rugby team, he was part of the team which won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

He said: “I was getting my car serviced at Snows when I heard about the track day – what an opportunity! It’s been stunning – being in the cars with the professional drivers, seeing some of the amazing Toyota sports models Snows sells and of course, getting the chance to open up our own cars on this world-famous circuit. I even managed to squeeze myself into the GR race car. I have absolutely loved it.”

Also taking part were father and son David and Sam Burley, who bought their Yaris GR from Snows Waterlooville.

David was a rally driver in his younger years and the two are now restoring his classic Peugeot for Sam to race.

David said: “Owning a GR Yaris was a huge draw to me because of my background in rallying and I love it. Sadly, I’m too old to rally now so, the chance to bring the Yaris GR here to Goodwood and race it has been absolutely stunning for us both.”

Snows has Toyota dealerships in Southampton, Waterlooville, Honiton, Exeter, Plymouth and Chichester, home of Goodwood.

Rogue Motorsport competes in the MR2 Championships and also runs the Total GR Race Car, which the team took along to Goodwood.

Alex Domone, chief operating officer for Snows, said: “The Snows Toyota Track Day gave us a chance to say thank you to our loyal customers and for them to embrace the full power of the cars they have bought and drive them safely at speeds they wouldn’t be able to do legally on the roads.

“We’re very grateful to Toyota for supporting the day and also to Rogue Motorsport’s incredibly talented drivers, who have made the experience even more memorable for our customers.”
