The Motability Scheme is designed to make it similar for eligible scheme members to access a new car that is adapted to their needs. You need to be on the Enhanced Rate of the Motability Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the Higher Rate Motability Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), War Pensioners’ Motability Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) to be eligible to get a car on the scheme.

If the eligible member of the Motability Scheme does not drive, they can nominate a driver, such as a family member or carer, so they can still benefit from a vehicle tailored to their needs.
