How does the Motability Scheme work?

Through the Motability Scheme, you can exchange your eligible benefits for the use of a new car.

Cars and other road vehicles are offered from authorised dealerships which act as Motability Partners – such as Snows. The team at your nearest dealer will support you every step of the way. They can advise on the most suitable model, guide you through the application and take delivery of the vehicle when you're ready to collect.

There are models offered with zero Advance Payment or at a competitively low price, so no matter which size or type of vehicle you need there will be a solution within your budget. Please note that the Advance Payment does not act as a deposit and is not refundable.

Many of the vehicles available can be specially adapted to suit your personal requirements. For example, a model with a larger cabin space may be adapted to securely accommodate a wheelchair. Some adaptations can be done at no additional cost. These modifications can be discussed with a specialist before you make your application. You may also be eligible for extra financial aid to have more extensive changes made.

The car you choose will arrive with road tax and insurance paid, and you also benefit from cover for maintenance such as windscreen repairs and tyre replacement. Your eligible benefits pay for the vehicle for as long as you use it. Some models cost less than your weekly allowance, saving you even more.

All models provided on Motability are supplied under three-year contracts. At the end of those three years, if you remain eligible for the Scheme you can select another brand new vehicle. You also have the option to simply keep or return your current car.
