Snows launched the bodyshop side of the business seven years ago, when we had been using external suppliers and struggling to find a company that provided the levels of service and quality of work that we were looking for. This is the moment that Snows decided to set up our very own bodyshop in Southampton, in order to guarantee that our customers experience the high standard of customer care and vehicle repair, every time.

Our efforts to get our centre up and running have certainly paid off, as we have gained an incredible status across the local area. Snows now have the ability to repair around 50 cars a week, while operating our of three separate buildings.​ The bodyshop also has two recovery trucks that operate as far as Plymouth to the west, Chichester and Bognor Regis to the east and Basingstoke and Guildford to the north.

New resources

At the beginning of our centre opening, the volume of work was putting pressure on our resources, and our existing space was becoming crowded due to the large amount of internal work being generated.

This then marked the further development of our bodyshop. Snows already owned a building on the Millbrook industrial estate, which provided us with the perfect solution to bring all bodyshop work under one roof. After six months of hard work and a £1 million investment, Snows' bodyshop became Snows Accident Repair Centre (SARC) in March 2019. Our new facility is now proudly one of the most advanced repair centres in England.

Our team offer a vast range of services, now that we have an impressive space which includes: four spray booths, aluminium bay, 60 work bays, and of course our state-of-the-art workshop. Our 28 staff of fully trained technicians, drivers and advisers are already at full capacity.

"We're steadily growing" says Group Bodyshop Manager, Daniel Bush; "By the end of the year we'd like to have the capability to repair 100 vehicles per week - double the number we were working on before our new centre opened".

Daniel puts our growth down to two things. The first is the work carried out in the centre is done to an exceptionally high quality. Secondly, instead of being dictated by insurers, we are able to generate approved repairs from the 19 manufacturers represented by Snows. This means that our site has a constant flow of internal work coming in from all ranges of franchised vehicles. From minor paintwork scratches to major bodywork rebuilds - our staff have the tools, knowledge, and supplies to complete a thorough service every time.

Customer satisfaction

Snows Accident Repair Centre has also proved to be a major asset in helping us retain customers and have further control over the finished result. Ultimately, with Snows, you can always expect your repairs to be carried out correctly and to the standard you would expect from an approved dealer.

Daniel is very proud of these achievements, and especially the center's drive to go paperless. He explains "We've just introduced tablets for our staff to use. Now our technicians and drivers can clock in and clock off online, and have instant access to all repair methods and email for faster communications".

SARC also have a strong fleet of 40 courtesy cars available, which are also managed through tablets online, rather than clipboards. This means that everything is more streamlined in terms of drop offs and pick-ups instantly being uploaded to a sophisticated management system. Less time, less paper, and less hassle.
