It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Snows Motor Group!
The company has embarked on a number of initiatives to spread some festive cheer and help people in need of a little extra support over the holiday period.
Some of the schemes are being run as part of the company’s ‘Mission 60’ project, organised to mark Snows’ 60th anniversary, which has been celebrated throughout 2022. Every member of staff has been given a fund-raising target of £60, with the aim of raising £60,000 in total, to be shared between six deserving charities.
And with the Christmas season in full swing, and hopes high that the target will be met, seasonal activity across the business has been increasing throughout December!
In a fantastic festive giveaway, Snows is handing out 10 sumptuous Virginia Hayward hampers – each filled with delicious delights and worth £200 – to deserving recipients. Those being given the hampers, chosen via an online nomination process, might have done some outstanding charity work, helped their local community in a special way, or just be deserving of a festive treat!
Meanwhile, the company’s Mazda dealership in Portsmouth is acting as a collection point for donations to be passed to a nearby food bank and Snows Jeep Portsmouth have been providing logistical help to the HIVE food pantry in Portsea.
A few miles along the South Coast, Snows has made a generous donation to a festive toy appeal organised by the football club AFC Totton in Southampton.
AFC Totton, who play in Southern League Division One South, receive ongoing support from Snows Motor Group. Managing Director Stephen Snow is club chairman, and the company sponsors its home ground, the Snows Stadium.
A club spokesperson said: ‘‘Every year, it breaks our hearts that too many children in the local community wake up without a toy or gift on Christmas Day. We work with local schools and community groups to distribute the toys and Christmas gifts to those who need them most.’’
The seasonal activity doesn’t stop there! In common with many other companies and organisations across the UK, staff were encouraged to wear their Christmas jumpers on a fund-raising day – and an online Christmas card design competition was organised for children.
Youngsters were invited to design a new sleigh for Santa Claus – complete with a Snows logo of course! – and the two winners were seven-year-old Harrison Forsyth and nine-year-old Matilda Macmillan, who were given theme park tickets as prizes and had their designs used on Snows’ 2022 Christmas cards.
In another cracker of a Christmas giveaway, visitors to the Snows website have been given the chance to win tickets to pantomime productions – oh yes they have!
Those taking part have been invited to supply their names and addresses to take part in a draw and choose the performance they’d like to attend if they win – with the two options being Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, or Sleeping Beauty at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth.
Olivia Snow, Customer Experience Manager at Snows Motor Group, said: ‘‘Maybe it’s because of our name, but we love Christmas at Snows Motor Group! Every year we try to spread a bit of festive cheer, whether that’s via the competitions we run or the support we provide to deserving causes and individuals. We’d like to wish all our customers and community partners a very merry Christmas!’’
Snows Group has undergone considerable expansion in recent years but remains a family-run business operating at the heart of the communities it serves in southern and south-west England.
The company operates five approved service centres and 12 used car centres, as well as around 50 franchised dealerships representing brands such as Toyota, Volkswagen, MINI, Peugeot and Vauxhall.
