St John Baptist School, a primary school in Hampshire, can be even more tech interactive in class thanks to a £2,000 donation from a family-run motor dealership Snows Toyota Hedge End.
Our Christmas gift to the school helped purchase two smartboards for the children at St John Baptist School in Waltham Chase, located between Winchester and Fareham.
One smartboard is already in place, thanks to a £2,000 donation by Snows Toyota in previous years, which the youngsters have had the chance to see this internet-connected screen in action. Visiting the school with the remaining £2,000 cheque was Snows director, Alex Domone, and Leanne Hobley, Snows Marketing Manager for Toyota, Lexus and Lotus.
Headteacher Kay Bowen said: “Smartboard technology makes a huge difference to teaching and learning. These ones represent a massive improvement, making it far quicker and easier to display information such as graphs, modelling and video. A huge thanks to Snows and Toyota.”
Alex also judged the winner of the school’s Christmas tree decoration competition; there were 12 decorated trees in all. He said: “A large amount of effort went into it. It had the most snow and the finger-knitting and other decorations were very creative.”
Smartboards are used to enhance teaching and learning experience for more than 20 years. The touch-sensitive display connects to a computer and projects what is on the computer screen. St John Baptist School uses Christian values to teach their 285 students respect, friendship and trust.
From all of us at Snows, we hope that St John Baptist School and all the children enjoy learning with their new interactive smartboards.
