Snows 60th anniversary fundraising challenge reaches £21k mark

Snows is determined to meet its 60th anniversary £60k fundraising challenge - with £21k already banked.

Tough Mudder

CHARITY-MINDED - Snows has challenged itself to raise £60k for charity in its 60 th year. Colleagues have organized and also entered a range of events so far including taking part in the London West Tough Mudder.

We marked our 60th anniversary this year by launching Mission 60 – a companywide challenge for every colleague in the business to raise £60 over the course of the year, in whichever way they like.

Olivia Snow, who is spearheading the campaign said: “This year, quite rightly, many people have been donating to charities supporting people affected by the Ukraine War and the cost-of-living crisis, and for that reason, fundraising has probably proven to be more challenging than it might normally have been. Despite this, we are incredibly proud to have reached the £21k mark in what has been a tough first six months.”

She continued: “From the outset, there has been a real sense of team spirit and camaraderie at all our events, and the support from customers has also been lovely. We’d like to thank those who have helped our Aftersales team raise nearly £4k via our charity Car Wash initiative.

GIVING BACK - Snows' colleagues also battled it out in a charity football match in aid of Mission 60 at AFC Totton, where Snows is a sponsor.

“We still have many great events to come, including an abseil at the Spinnaker Tower, the Shipwrights Way Cycle, the Great South Run, Cycle 60 at Goodwood Motor Circuit, and even a skydive.”

Snows have been fundraising in a variety of different ways, but the grueling 106K non-stop walk around the Isle of Wight has been the biggest event so far, raising almost £7k.

Large sums have also been raised through a 10km London West Tough Mudder and our charity football match at AFC Totton.

Recent individual efforts have included a Bake Sale at MINI Portsmouth, a 600-mile Cycle event at Peugeot Basingstoke, and even an entry in the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event by our DMS Manager, Chris Grist.

Snows colleagues picked the good causes to benefit from Mission 60 efforts, choosing: Second Chance Animal Rescue, Jeremiah's Journey, Children's Hospice South West, Naomi House & Jacksplace, Rowans Hospice and Wessex Cancer Trust.
