Snows and Ventnor Botanic Garden Grow Towards a Sustainable Future with New Partnership

Snows and Ventnor Botanic Garden are delighted to announce that they will be partnering throughout 2016 and into 2017 to support the Isle of Wight’s dedication to sustainability.

Snows BMW and Snows MINI, located in Forest Road, Newport, are proud to represent the full range of BMW and MINI models, as well as providing an excellent range of servicing facilities and corporate solutions. Models from both brands will be showcased at Ventnor Botanic Garden over the coming months, starting with the MINI Clubman, which features split rear doors capable of contactless entry. As the owner of a Clubman, all you’d need to do to place your VBG trademark Echiums or other exotic plants in the boot is swipe your foot underneath the rear bumper, providing convenient hands-free access!

The MINI Clubman from Snows makes a fantastic addition to Ventnor Botanic Garden

Working with the Isle of Wight Council and SSE, VBG installed one of the Island’s first electric vehicle charging points. Ventnor Botanic Garden, situated on Undercliff Drive, Ventnor, looks forward to welcoming the innovative BMW i3 and i8 to its grounds later in the year.

The BMWi range of electric vehicles epitomises sustainability from conceptualisation to final product and beyond. Carbon fibre passenger cells are developed using hydroelectricity, and the BMWi plant is fully powered by four specially constructed wind turbines. What’s more, the BMW i3 includes both renewable and recycled resources: 95% of the materials used in its creation are completely recyclable at the end of the vehicle’s life. Some of these materials, such as Eucalyptus wood, grow at VBG where one of the UK’s largest outdoor collections of Eucalyptus can be found.

Manil Seebaluck, General Sales Manager at Snows BMW and MINI on the Isle of Wight, says “Snows is proud to support businesses on the Isle of Wight, and Ventnor Botanic Garden is a fantastic example of an IoW business striving to deliver for its visitors. This new partnership is a perfect fit, allowing both parties to demonstrate their dedication to sustainability in a picturesque setting”.

Ventnor Botanic Garden is home to plants from all over the world, its location at the heart of the “Undercliff” on the Island providing it with a perfect microclimate which allows their subtropical plant collection to thrive outdoors. With origins in the twentieth century, the Garden has developed in recent years into a stronger attraction and an important centre for the cultivation and conservation of plants, all the while maintaining a keen focus on sustainability.

John Curtis, VBG Director, added, “The Island is ideal for electric vehicles and working with Snows to bring the first all electric BMWs, the i3 and the i8, to be displayed on the Island, is on mission for us. As we have been transforming VBG, we are delighted to be working with Snows and their aspirational brands.”

The new partnership between Snows and Ventnor Botanic Garden brings together two parties who endeavour to contribute to the IoW community. Visitors to the Garden will now have the pleasure of viewing the very latest BMW and MINI models whilst enjoying the plant collection.
