Snows celebrate 60 years in business

Snows Motor Group is delighted to be celebrating its 60th birthday this year, and to commemorate this impressive milestone, the business is in the process of planning a series of events and campaigns that will take place throughout the year, including a new Charity Initiative called ‘Mission 60’, a companywide hunt for a golden ticket, the official launch of their new talent management programme and much more.

Snows started life in 1962 as an office supplies business with the late Geoff Snow investing in St James’ Toyota Centre in 1979 introducing the business to the motor trade. Fast forward 60 years and Snows now has a network of over 48 garages and represents 19 brands across the South of England, employing nearly 1,000 members of staff.

Celebrations to mark the 60th birthday will run throughout 2022 and officially began on Tuesday 4th January with every member of staff being given their birthday off as an extra day’s leave and the announcement that a special Snows 60th birthday package was on its way to all employees.

Stephen Snow, Group Chairman & CEO said ‘We could not be more thrilled to have reached this exciting milestone. Snows was established as a company focused on its people and that remains true today, 60 years of vision and purpose along with the efforts of our fantastic people make Snows the brilliant business it is. It’s been fantastic to have the opportunity to thank our people for their hard work and commitment, and we look forward to continuing the celebrations with them throughout the year’.

Mission 60

Ahead of the anniversary year Snows launched a new charity initiative named Mission 60, whereby the business is collectively working together to raise a total of £60,000 for local charities. Olivia Snow, who joined the family-owned group in the Summer and is spearheading the initiative explained ‘We’ve challenged every colleague in the business to raise £60 over the year, in whatever way they like. It is a small thing for us all but pulling together with one focus means we can raise a fantastic £60,000 in one year’.

Olivia continued ‘Whilst Snows has seen huge growth over the years, we still remain a family business and know the key to our success is not only through our people but also thanks the support of our customers and the communities we operate in. It is very important to us that they are included and recognised as part our celebrations this year.’

Colleagues were given the opportunity to put forward local causes close to their hearts for consideration and all took part in a final vote to select the charities Mission 60 would support. The final six charities that will receive an equal split of the monies raised are, Second Chance Animal Rescue, Jeremiah's Journey, Children's Hospice South West, Rowans Hospice, Naomi House & Jacks Place and Wessex Cancer Trust.

With incentives, pizza parties and beach cleans on the way, 2022 is set to be an exciting year for the business as they look towards the next 60 years.
