Snows managers reflect on another year of good business and look forward to a prosperous future to come, as we commemorate the dedication and hard work of our team of 2017.
The company's second annual conference took place on Friday 9th February at the Concorde Club in Eastleigh, near Southampton, where more than 130 staff attended the event. Named in honour of our late founder Geoff Snow, with industry insights, analysis and performance talks under the banner of 'One Team One Vision'. Part of the evening was dedicated to an award presentation, where we recognised the hard efforts of our team over the past year and particular individuals who have given that little bit extra.
An “unsung hero” who has been overseeing IT at Snows was rightfully named Manager of the Year by the team at the conference. Group IT manager, Stuart Truman (pictured on the right) was handed the inaugural ‘Driving Spirit’ award for successfully integrating the computer systems of 11 newly acquired businesses in 2017. He was among six managers nominated by Snows’ directors for the accolade.
Group chairman Stephen Snow, who presented the award to Stuart, along with £500 holiday vouchers, said afterwards: “Stuart thoroughly deserves this award. An unsung IT hero, Stuart has worked tirelessly to successfully integrate the computer systems of 11 newly acquired businesses whilst ensuring all the IT runs as smoothly as possible for our 835 members of staff. Overall, we now have 50 businesses across 19 brands, which is pretty impressive when, back in 1962, my late father and our founder Geoff Snow started the business with a £275 loan selling office supplies!”
Earlier, Stephen told conference attendees: “We will continue to develop the Group further with the right opportunities, helping to promote and develop individuals. Even more importantly we will encourage teamwork, which is a critical part of what we do. Individuals bring their own skills and talents to the table but what really matters is the whole team, the whole group, all 835 members of our staff now working at Snows, working towards a common goal.”
He added: “If we are to enjoy long-term success, we must delight our customers by providing outstanding customer service.”
Five other staff were nominated for Manager of the Year. They were Greg Jones, Sales Manager at Snows Peugeot Basingstoke, Michael Maidment, Service Manager at Snows Toyota Hedge End, Ash Black, Parts Manager at Snows BMW and MINI Portsmouth, Paul Marsh, Sales Manager Snows Toyota Waterlooville, and Lauren Watson, Marketing Manager, Snows Citroën, DS, Kia, SEAT, Peugeot, Suzuki and Too Good To Auction.
The conference also paid thanks to our fantastic sponsors who help keep the business strong, including: AutoTrader, Blue Sky Interactive, British Car Auctions, CitNow, Codeweavers, GForces and Motors.co.uk.
