Lexus NX 450h+ crowed Best Large Plug-in Car for a second year running at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards!

This honour reflects Lexus’s constant research and expertise in vehicle electrification as their technologies are delivering more efficient performance than the NX’s class rivals. Rather than default to a petrol combustion engine when the battery falls short, the Lexus switches seamlessly and operates as a self-charging full hybrid. By using this regenerative braking method, the car delivers strong fuel economy and low emissions.

The Lexus NX 450h+ features a four-cylinder 2.5-litre hybrid engine, a 134kW front electric motor, a 40kW rear electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with 18.1kWh capacity. The full plug-in system produces a huge 305bhp enabling acceleration from 0 to 62mph in just 6.3, so there is zero compromise on performance. Fuel economy lies somewhere between 256.8mpg and 313.8mpg, among the best in the car’s class. The NX 450h+ is equipped as standard with Lexus’s intelligent E-Four electric all-wheel drive system and has a 1.5-tonne towing capacity.

The award judges commented: “The Lexus NX is a great car with or without a plug, but the 450h+ raises the game with a long electric range, plus a quiet, comfortable cabin and fantastic in-car tech. Another repeat winner, the Lexus NX is our best large plug-in hybrid for 2024.”
